AFIL was founded in 1981 with the sale of household appliances and housewares in a small warehouse in the center of the city of Porto.
With the changing needs of customers, AFIL has followed up on its needs, as is the basis of its commercial policy, starting to market decoration construction materials, assuming the sanitary ones an increasing importance in the company's activity.
Due to the customer focus policy, AFIL experienced a great growth, which forced it to relocate outside the city of Porto, to a larger warehouse (1000 m2), to rent the facilities in S. Pedro Fins.
In the 1990s AFIL associated with a bathroom furniture factory to ensure the quality standards required by AFIL for its products.
With continued growth, in 1997, AFIL's management felt the need to expand its physical space, acquiring a warehouse with an area of 3200 m2. At this date AFIL begins with the first contacts with the outside, such as Spain and Italy.
Year 2000, year of international expansion, initiates contacts for export and import with the African, American and Asian continents. With the evolution of the business a new increase of the space became vital, soon the AFIL extended its space to 5000m2.
Currently AFIL, has a physical space of 7500m2, is dedicated to the wholesale trade in the area of bathroom furniture, accessories and components (columns, bathtubs, mirrors, hydromassage cabins).
